Capsule Geology

The Ridge showing lies about 1700 metres west of Todd Creek approximately 17.5 kilometres south of the confluence of Todd Creek and the Bowser River, about 35 kilometres northeast of Stewart.

The area is underlain by Hazelton Group rocks of the Lower Jurassic Unuk River Formation (Bulletin 63). Predominant, north to northwest-trending andesite flows and agglomerates are interbedded with feldspar porphyry (intrusion?) and rhyolite flows and tuffs.

The showing consists of several mineralized outcrops that cover an area about 300 by 200 metres. Mineralization comprises pyrite, chalcopyrite and malachite. Grab samples assayed up to 0.34 gram per tonne gold, 5.2 grams per tonne silver and 14.14 per cent copper (Assessment Report 17423). The mineralization appears to be hosted by mafic volcanics that lie immediately west of a large gossan apparently associated with feldspar porphyry. Related mineralization occurs to the south at the Yellow Bowl prospect (104A 111).

Approximately 200 metres north of the showing, a sample from outcrop assayed 12.7 grams per tonne silver, 1.17 per cent lead and 1.71 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 17423).

In 1986, Noranda Exploration Limited staked the Toc 1-12 claims to cover showings in the Todd Creek area. From 1986 to 1988, Noranda completed reconnaissance exploration work, including geological mapping, prospecting and silt and soil geochemical surveys; the showing was discovered in 1987. In 1997, Island-Arc Resources Corp. optioned the property.

In 2017, stream sediment samples were collected by Millrock Resources Inc from streams in the vicinity of MINFILE occurrence Ridge. Three samples (W366 244, 245 and 246) were collected from several east-flowing streams. Sample W366245 yielded 41 parts per million gold and sample 246 yielded 13 parts per million (Assessment Report 37268, Map 2a(1) and 2a(3)). No other significant anomalous values were obtained.

Refer to Todd Creek-South zone (104A 001) for a detailed work history of the Todd Creek property area showings.
